Creative Direction

In 2019, The Henry Ford partnered with Adobe to create a unique and interactive experience on the floor of the American Museum of Innovation. I lead an internal team at The Henry Ford that works to activate partnerships. We jumped at the opportunity to work with Adobe and set forth on brainstorming ideas. Through numerous video calls and email threads, we landed on the concept of being able to use your body and movements to “search” through photos in our digital collections. We worked with an amazing design & development team at Adobe. After sending a hard drive of over 30,000 digitized images from the museum’s collection, we began to bring the experience to life. I worked closely with the lead developer, Will, and provided creative direction throughout the user experience - from attract mode, to the takeaway didactic moment, to the look and feel of the supporting graphics. The exhibit provides the user with an emailed image of their experience, tying in the artifact that they “matched” with and connecting them into our digital collections in a brand new way. We did user testing at the Adobe offices in San Francisco and had the opportunity to “premier” the experience at Adobe Max in Los Angles that November. After some experiential Q/A tweaks, we installed the experience on the museum floor in late 2019.
